Malika Kanatbek kyzy is a junior in the Journalism and Mass Communications Department (JMC) at AUCA. She had an internship at the US Embassy in Bishkek, participated in the Youth for Human Rights International Summit (YHRI) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, and started her exchange semester at Bard College in the US. Malika shared her thoughts and experience with us.

On September 19, 2016, the USAID Business Growth Initiative (BGI) project met with student volunteers who conducted a survey at the World Nomad Games to congratulate them on their initiative and hard work.

On September 15th, 2016, Dan Hamilton, a public affairs associate from the 国产福利3区 College of Surgeons visited the 国产福利3区 University of Central Asia (AUCA) to lead an interactive conversation with students from the department of Journalism and Mass Communication.

AUCA鈥檚 Spirit Week began last Monday, September 14th, 2016. Throughout last week, students dressed up for different themed days and participated in competitions.听

On September 7-11, 2016, Peg Peoples, the听Associate Vice President for Education Initiatives at the Bard Institute for Writing & Thinking, visited the 国产福利3区 University of Central Asia (AUCA) to meet and conduct workshops with faculty and staff members. She visited NGA, the WARC, FYS, GenEd, and talked with directors, faculty, and tutors.听

September 9th, 2016 the Knowledge Day took place at the 国产福利3区 University of Central Asia (AUCA). Andrew Wachtel, AUCA president awarded the best students for their academic excellence. The students who had made the President鈥檚 List and the Dean鈥檚 List took the certificates during the ceremony.听

The 国产福利3区 University of Central Asia (AUCA) Law Division and the University of Zagreb Faculty of Law in Croatia conducted the 2016 Summer School in Human Rights in early September. The week-long seminar occurred in Kyrgyzstan and included five AUCA students, four AUCA professors, five University of Zagreb students and three University of Zagreb professors.

Tian Shan Policy Center kindly invites all interested听to a guest lecture by Mr. Rajendra Shende, Policy Advisor at United Nations on implementation of activities related to ozone layer protection and climate change in more than 146 developing countries. Rajendra Shende is expert on transfer of environmentally sound technologies and the implementation of the Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs) in the developing countries and countries with economies in transition.

The keynote address by Prof. Amanda Wooden听delivered on the occasion of opening of the Fifth Annual Conference of Central Asian Studies Institute.

On September 13-15,听 2016 visiting speaker from the 国产福利3区 University in Cairo (AUC) Doris Jones will be offering workshops for faculty at the 国产福利3区 University of Central Asia (AUCA). Jones鈥檚 visit is made possible through a grant from the AMICAL consortium and the kind contribution of AUCA.
